Although seemingly small in size, the Rovinj Ecomuseum-Ecomuseo "Batana" is a real heritage treasure chest containing a multitude of valuable objects and stories whose discovery can be turned into a fun and educational adventure. Visitors, especially children, will have the opportunity to get to know and discover the batana and its heritage on May 18th, on the occasion of the celebration of International Museum Day. The Ecomuseum-Ecomuseo "Batana" will be open on that day from 10 am to 9 pm, admission will be free, and the museum's hostesses Ornella Godena and Roberta Silvi Malusà will be happy to guide visitors in the game "Discovering the Batana" and present prizes to successful players after the search.

Even if you have been a guest of the Ecomuseum many times, some interesting facts have certainly remained hidden from you, so International Museum Day is an ideal opportunity to donate time to the Ecomuseum, form your teams, find the questions that the inspired Rovinj sailor placed in certain places, and through searching for the answers, re-examine and experience the award-winning exhibition. The game will focus your attention, of course, on the batana, its construction and use, but also on a multitude of other heritage values that are an inseparable part of the story of the batana and the preservation of this Rovinj symbol. One of the questions will also lead you to a great award, the tenth anniversary of which the Ecomuseum-Ecomuseo "Batana" is marking this year in this way.

"We designed the game so that our museum would be a place of joyful encounters, learning and fun on this important day, a place that is not just a static monument to our maritime heritage, but a space of welcome, interaction and experience in which our visitors feel comfortable and appreciated. While all the objects we preserve tell numerous stories related to our small boat, it is the visitors who give life and dynamism to our ecomuseum by filling it with the energy of their experiences of our tradition. We intended the game for all curious researchers who love tasks, puzzles and quests, and although the path to the final solution is not demanding, we believe that it will bring a dose of fun and excitement to every visitor and reveal some interesting heritage that they might otherwise have missed," emphasized the director of the Institution-Istituzione "Kuća o batana-Casa della batana", Nives Giruicin.
